Are you attending EthCC in Paris this March? To kick off the week, Kaiko will be co-hosting an event with Chainlink at our shared offices with Consensys on March 4. Stop by to socialize, network, and of course, learn about smart contracts and decentralized oracles.
Event Description:
Smart contracts require external data if they’re to solve the important problems that go beyond tokenization. In this demo, you’ll learn how to connect a smart contract to external, off-chain data using Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network. We’ll start by creating a Chainlink smart contract that requests cryptocurrency market data from Kaiko. Then we’ll feed that data into a smart contract to automatically trigger transactions based on crypto fiat prices.
Speakers:
Ambre Soubiran is the CEO of Kaiko, an institutional digital assets data provider. She first became interested in cryptocurrencies in 2013, and has since invested in a number of start-ups in the space. She is also a founding member of the CollectiveFuture, a group of tech leaders working to foster diversity in blockchain and cryptoassets. Ambre hopes to improve transparency in the cryptoassets space through the provision of high-quality market data.
Sergey Nazarov is the CEO of Chainlink. He joined the blockchain space in 2011 and built some of the first decentralized applications in 2013 (Cryptamail and Secure Asset Exchange). He’s currently working to solve the “oracle problem” by providing smart contracts with the inputs and outputs they need to effectively interface with external data sources.
Thomas Hodges is a Developer Evangelist and Integration Engineer at Chainlink. He helps developers around the world unlock the potential of smart contracts using the Chainlink network.
