Kaiko bitwise staked indices Rulebook
Kaiko Bitwise Staked Indices measure the total return of Proof-of-Stake digital assets, capturing both price appreciation and staking rewards. These indices are designed for institutional investors seeking a complete view of potential returns from staking-enabled assets.
Each index tracks two components: price return (via Kaiko’s Reference Rates from executed trades on centralized exchanges) and staking yield (via median-based aggregation from vetted staking providers). A quantity-adjusted methodology increases the asset quantity over time to reflect accrued staking rewards, which are reinvested on rebalancing dates.
The rulebook defines two indices:
- Staked Celestia (TIA)
- Staked EigenLayer (EIGEN).
Both indices use a 90% utilization rate, monthly rebalancing (last business day of the month), and daily fixing publications at 16:15 London time. EIGEN employs a custom yield calculation averaging top operators (minimum 1M tokens). Governance follows Kaiko’s committee oversight framework with provisions for extraordinary reviews.
