S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko Introduce S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices

Kaiko Selected as Finalist in the Swift Hackathon 2026

Kaiko brings its data infrastructure to Swift’s global competition for tokenized finance standards.

Kaiko, the leader in digital asset market data, analytics, and data infrastructure, has been selected as a finalist in the Swift Hackathon 2026, the global competition run by Swift to design the standards that will support the next phase of digital asset adoption. Held remotely and bringing together major banks, market infrastructure providers, and fintechs from around the world under the theme “Scaling Digital Assets Through Standards,” the hackathon asks finalists to build practical, standards-aligned models for tokenized finance. The winners of each challenge will present their solutions at Sibos 2026 in Miami.

The challenge

Kaiko is competing in the hackathon’s Business Challenge: “Who does what in a tokenized world?” The challenge asks teams to develop a standardized business-role model for executing transactions involving tokenized financial instruments, grounded in established market practice and aligned to ISO 20022. Kaiko’s entry applies its data and data infrastructure to this challenge, modeling how an established market role and its transaction workflow can be standardized for tokenized assets.

what this means

Being selected as a finalist places Kaiko among a small group of teams progressing in the Business Challenge, one of two tracks in this year’s hackathon. The Swift Hackathon 2026 drew submissions from financial institutions, infrastructure providers, and fintechs worldwide.

For Kaiko, the selection reflects the growing role of trusted, institutional-grade data and data infrastructure in connecting digital assets with traditional finance. As tokenized financial instruments move from pilots to production, that data and data infrastructure – from pricing and valuations to analytics and onchain processes – is a required layer of any standardized framework.

“We are proud to be among the finalists in the Swift Hackathon. Tomorrow’s tokenized financial system will run on standards, and ISO 20022 is key. Kaiko’s role is to help shape those standards and to power the markets built on them with trusted, institutional-grade data infrastructure.”Philippe Redaelli, Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives, Kaiko.

Meet the Kaiko team at Sibos 2026 in Miami from 28 September to 1 October 2026.
