Kaiko Receives Honorable Mention in Swift Hackathon 2026

Swift recognizes Kaiko’s contribution to standards for tokenized financial markets.

Kaiko, the leading provider of regulated data services for onchain finance, today announced that it has received an Honorable Mention in the Swift Hackathon 2026, which brought together 129 participants. Swift recognized Kaiko’s submission during Sibos 2026 in Miami. The recognition follows Kaiko’s participation in the hackathon’s Business Challenge, “Who does what in a tokenized world?”

Standards for Tokenized Markets

The recognition reflects Kaiko’s contribution to industry standards that can support wider institutional use of tokenized financial instruments. Swift’s 2026 hackathon focused on “Scaling Digital Assets Through Standards,” bringing financial institutions, market infrastructure providers, and fintech companies together to examine practical models for digital asset markets.

Kaiko’s submission focused on the business roles and information flows involved in tokenized money market funds operations. The work drew on Kaiko’s experience in market data and institutional data infrastructure to examine how established market practices can support new forms of digital finance.

The proposed model aligns with ISO 20022, the international standard for electronic data exchange across financial institutions. ISO 20022 provides a shared structure for financial information, allowing market participants to describe roles, transactions, and relevant data in a consistent way across different systems.

Recognition Follows Finalist Selection

The Honorable Mention recognizes the company’s contribution to the standards discussion and its participation in a global initiative focused on practical requirements for tokenized markets.

“Tokenized financial markets need shared standards that connect new instruments with the roles, data, and processes already used across financial services,” said Philippe Redaelli, Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives, Kaiko. “We chose to contribute to this work because tokenized money market funds and, more generally, all other digital financial instruments will depend on clear market definitions and reliable information. Kaiko is very happy to have received the Honorable Mention, and we are grateful to Swift and the broader financial community for the opportunity to contribute.”

Kaiko’s recognition follows its ongoing work to provide market data and infrastructure for institutions operating across centralized and onchain markets. The company will continue working with Swift and the wider financial community on standards that support clear, auditable, and interoperable digital asset markets.
